Terms of Service

Important: Verdikt is an information tool powered by artificial intelligence. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Its output may be incomplete or wrong. Always read the contract itself and, for important decisions, take advice from a qualified legal professional.
1. About us and these terms
Verdikt is provided by [Company legal name] Ltd (company number [Company number]), registered at [Registered office address] ("we", "us"). These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, form the agreement between you and us.
2. Not legal advice
- Summaries, red flags, obligations, key dates, response letters and anything else Verdikt produces are general information to help you understand a document. They are not legal advice and are not tailored to your circumstances.
- Using Verdikt does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and us, or between you and any legal expert, and is not covered by legal professional privilege.
- You are responsible for your decisions, including whether to sign, amend, or reject a contract, and whether to seek professional advice.
3. Limits of AI analysis
Our analysis is generated by an AI model. It can misread documents, miss clauses, misjudge risk, or state things that are not in the contract. Quotes and findings may be inaccurate. The analysis does not account for laws of any particular country, recent legal changes, or facts outside the document. Always check findings against the original contract.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Verdikt.
- Keep your login details secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. Your content
- You keep all rights in the documents you upload and the notes, responses and letters you create ("your content").
- You give us permission to store, copy and process your content, including by sending it to our AI provider, only as needed to provide and secure the service.
- You confirm that you have the right to upload each document, and that any personal data about other people in it is shared lawfully.
- Don't upload documents you're prohibited from sharing, for example under a confidentiality obligation that doesn't allow it.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Verdikt for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- upload malware or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or bypass its security or usage limits;
- scrape, resell or automate the service, or use it to build a competing product, without our written permission.
7. Response letters and generated agreements
Response letters are drafts based on your instructions. Review and edit them before sending. Anything you send to another party is your communication and your responsibility, including its accuracy and legal effect.
Agreements you create
The agreement generator produces a draft based only on what you tell it. Drafts are a starting point, not a finished legal document: they may not suit your circumstances, may omit terms you need, and may contain placeholders you must complete. You are responsible for reviewing, completing and deciding whether to use any draft, and for the agreement you and the other party eventually sign.
8. Expert review requests
If you ask for an expert review, we pass your details to an independent, qualified legal expert (such as a solicitor). Any advice, fees and engagement are agreed directly between you and that expert, who is responsible for their own services. We don't guarantee an expert will be available or take on your matter.
9. Sharing and e-signatures
You can share contracts with other people. You're responsible for choosing who you share with and can remove access at any time.
You can send a document for electronic signature. Verdikt provides a simple electronic signature: each signer opens a private link sent to their email address, types or draws their signature and confirms they intend to sign. We record when they viewed and signed, their IP address and device, and a fingerprint of the document, and add these to a signature certificate. We don't check signers' identity beyond access to that email address.
You are responsible for deciding whether an electronic signature is suitable for your document and for sending it to the right people. Some documents can't be signed this way or need formalities we don't provide, such as deeds that must be witnessed, wills, lasting powers of attorney and documents for registering land. Verdikt is not a party to any agreement you sign and doesn't guarantee that it is valid or enforceable.
10. Subscription, free trial and fair use
Using Verdikt's AI features and e-signatures needs a subscription, which costs £9.99 a month or £89 a year. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Without a subscription you can still sign in, view, download and delete your documents, and sign documents other people send you.
Free trial. Your first subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. You give a payment card when the trial starts but aren't charged during it. We'll email you before the trial ends. Unless you cancel before it ends, your subscription starts automatically and you'll be charged the price you chose. One free trial per person.
Renewal and cancelling. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under Manage billing on your account page; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't give refunds for part-used periods except as set out below or where the law requires.
Your right to cancel. If you're a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of your first payment and ask us for a full refund of that payment by emailing [privacy@yourdomain.com]. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
Fair use. Daily limits apply to AI features and e-signature requests so the service stays available for everyone; limits are lower during the free trial. Current limits are shown on the Pricing page and your account page. We may change them, and we'll tell you before reducing them for paying subscribers.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a short period and you keep access meanwhile; if it still fails, your subscription ends. We may change prices for future periods by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email, and you can cancel before the change takes effect. Deleting your account cancels any subscription or trial straight away.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Verdikt available and secure, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. For significant changes that affect you, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
12. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
If you are a consumer
We provide Verdikt for domestic and private use. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses. Because the service provides information rather than advice, we are not responsible for the outcome of decisions you make about a contract. You have legal rights as a consumer that these terms do not affect.
If you use Verdikt for business
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £100. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload in breach of these terms.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Verdikt and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, and will give notice where reasonable.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll tell you in advance by email or in the app. If you keep using the service after they take effect, the new terms apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there, and if you live in the EU you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.
